These instructions provide steps for downloading the ShopSite TX software and screen pack, and installing and configuring the ShopSite TX screen pack on a Transact system. The screen pack allows ShopSite TX mall administrators to remotely manage the screens for ShopSite TX stores. The Transact system cannot process ShopSite TX stores until the screen pack is installed.
After completing these steps, you must follow the instructions for installing the ShopSite TX software on a different server. Once you have installed the software on both systems, you will be ready to offer sellers fast and powerful Web store creation coupled with industry-leading transaction processing and order tracking.
If you are upgrading from a previous version of ShopSite, please use the upgrading instructions.

You can install the ShopSite TX screen pack on a server running either Transact 5 or Transact 4.
- Transact 5
- You must have subscriptions disabled, and you must use web-based authentication. ShopSite does not work with the subscription server nor with forms-based authentication. Be sure to download the zip file that has "transact5" in the file name.
- Transact 4
- Your server must be runnning version 4.2.1 or higher for support of non-English stores and Y2K compliance. The screen pack will work with Transact versions as early as 4.0.1.11, but it is not recommended.
- Important Notes on Installation and Operation
All the scripts are designed to run under a KornShell (ksh). If you do not have the KornShell installed on your system, you may need to edit the scripts to get them to run correctly.
The screen pack makes edits to the Transact registry. Make a backup of the Transact registry (located in /tms-ts/conf/registry.asc) before you install the ShopSite TX screen pack. Also, make sure that no one else is making administrative changes to the registry directly or through the administration GUI screens.
- Download and Unpack the Install Files
- Use an FTP client to connect to shopsite.com.
- Log in, using the username and password that were given to you for downloading the ShopSite software.
- Navigate to the directory for your server platform.
- Use a binary-mode transfer to download the zip file for your operating system and Transact version, according to the table, below.

- If there is a patch directory in the operating system directory, cd to it. Download all of its contents to the install directory on your server. If there are patches, you will install them after completing the regular installation.
- If you are going to install a non-English language pack, download that file now. You must use a different FTP username and password to access the language packs.
- Unzip the ShopSite file.
> unzip tx-transact5-sparc.zip
(The file name will vary, depending on your server platform.)
- Unzip the language zip file (only if installing a language pack).
> unzip tx-italiano.zip
- Use FTP to move screen_pack*.tar to the tms-ts directory on the Transact system. This command also moves any language pack tar files that you may have downloaded.
- Install the Screen Pack
- Log in to the Transact system as the Transact administrator.
- If you are running Transact 4, copy the screen_pack tar file to the tms-ts subdirectory of the Transact installation. If you are running Transact 5, copy the screen_pack tar file to the Transact directory.
- Source the transact.cshrc file in the tms-ts/conf directory.
> source ./conf/transact.cshrc
- Untar the screen pack file:
> tar -xvf screen_pack_tms-ts.tar
- From the tms-ts directory, install the kit:
> ./screen_pack/install.screen_pack
- Restart the Web server. You should see the message:
OK: Screen_Pack installed in the registry
- Install Language Packs
This step is only required if you are planning on hosting non-English stores with ShopSite TX.
- Log in as the Transact administrator.
- Go to the tms-ts subdirectory of the Transact installation.
- Source the transact.cshrc file in the tms-ts/conf directory.
