ShopSite, Inc. Releases Version 6.3 of its Easy-To-Use E-Commerce Shopping Cart

Version 6.3 includes new Quantity Discounts and XML Order Download.

OREM, Utah, April 24 2003 -- ShopSite, Inc., a leading provider of easy-to-use Web catalog software, today released version 6.3 of ShopSite, the company's advanced e-commerce shopping cart application. "We continue to add the features requested by our growing number of merchants," said ShopSite CEO David Hills.

Product Quantity Discounts

"The new Product Quantity Discount feature is an example of listening to our merchants," stated David Hills. Earlier ShopSite versions have a volume Order Discount feature that can be applied to the order total. ShopSite Pro v6.0 added Digital Coupons that can be applied to an order or individual product. Now, with the new Product Quantity Discount feature, a ShopSite Pro merchant can easily apply per-unit discounts based upon the number of units ordered. For example, a merchant can give price breaks on units at 10, 20, 50, and 100 or greater of a product ordered. The merchant determines the number of price breaks and at what quantity a price break occurs.

XML Order Download

ShopSite Pro and Manager have the ability to download orders in a tab-delimited, QuickBooks, or other delimited format. "As our traditional small to medium-size merchant's businesses have grown, we found they desired a programmatic way to pull order information into their order-fulfillment systems or in-house inventory control systems" said Hills. With the new XML Order Download feature in ShopSite Pro, no manual intervention is necessary to retrieve order information. In addition, as future versions of ShopSite continue to add new features and data fields to the order download, programs written to use the XML Order Download will not have to be updated if they have no need for the new data fields.

The Stone Edge Order Manager is the first third-party product to take advantage of this feature. According to Stone Edge President Barney Stone "by using ShopSite's new XML Order Download capability we have made our Order Manager for ShopSite faster and more convenient to use. Previously you had to open your browser, go to your ShopSite back office, then to the New Orders page, download your orders and save them as a text file, then run the Order Manager and use the Import Orders function. Now it just takes two button clicks in the Order Manager and everything else is automatic. Managing your company's customers, products, inventory, orders, shipping and more was never easier."

Other Enhancements

ShopSite v6.3 includes the following new features:

  • New store layout themes
  • Lynk Systems payment gateway
  • Authorize.Net eCheck support
  • Multiple Associate landing pages
  • Merchant-defined Order API fields

Upgrading to 6.3

For most merchants currently using ShopSite 6.0 through 6.2.1 there will be no charge to upgrade to 6.3. Merchants can upgrade directly to 6.3 from earlier ShopSite versions (3.x, 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x.) Merchants should contact their hosting provider or ShopSite reseller for details on upgrading and to learn what fees, if any, are applicable.
