E-Commerce Vendor ShopSite Announces Version 10 SP2 of Leading Shopping Cart System

-Popular software adds mobile order management, dashboard, and Braintree integration

July 20, 2010, Orem, Utah -- ShopSite, Inc., a leading provider of e-commerce shopping cart and catalog software for small to medium-sized businesses, announced the release of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for ShopSite version 10. ShopSite® is an industry leading e-commerce software option for web hosting providers, for new or existing Internet merchants, and for Web designers.

New Features

Dashboard (Pro, Manager, Starter)
The dashboard displays key store information at a glance. Some of the information the merchant can view includes:

  • Recent Orders
  • Sales totals for the day, week, or month
  • Popular Products
  • Store statistics – number of products, pages, orders, customers, etc.
  • RSS feed for blogs, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Popular Searches (Pro and Manager)

The merchant can configure what information is displayed on the dashboard as well as drag and drop to organize the dashboard as they prefer to view it. Deborah J. LaBrake of LaBrake's Garden Path & Pond LLC says, "The dashboard is a great addition to ShopSite. This in itself would be worth the upgrade! With the ability to custom configure [the dashboard], one can see all pertinent info at a quick glance. The dashboard support for mobile browsers allows me to check on my store anytime and from almost anywhere."

Mobile merchant interface (Pro, Manager, Starter)
Key parts of the ShopSite merchant interface will detect the use of mobile web browsers and optimize the display for a better mobile experience. Mobile aware sections of the merchant interface include the new dashboard and the order management screens, where merchants can view and fill orders. Steve Gerencser of Animal Charms states, "I love the new mobile interface for ShopSite. I can actually run my shopping site from the comfort of my fishing boat with my cell phone. No more missed sales opportunities or fish!!"

Inventory Tracking for Ordering Options (Pro)
Inventory Tracking can now be extended to ordering options (e.g. shirt sizes such as small, medium, large). In addition, when using multiple order options (style, color, size) at the same time, any out-of-stock options can be noted or hidden. Also, the appropriate image for the combination of selected options will be displayed to the shopper. Gary Bisonett of says "the ability to track inventory order options (e.g. in our case multiple colors of the same stuffed animal) will streamline our site management process."

Merchants can have ShopSite insert Facebook and Twitter logos to allow their shoppers to follow them on either social media service.

Share on Facebook/Twitter (Pro, Manager)
Merchants can have ShopSite insert Facebook ‘share' and Twitter ‘tweet' logos on their pages, so their customers can share what they find on the site with their own social networks on Facebook and Twitter.
