Custom Page Templates: Text 1, Text 2, and Text 3
The three Text fields on a page are large and free-form, and they often contain HTML tags.
- If you are creating a template for generic use, you may just want to put the appropriate custom template tags in the right places in your template and leave the rest up to the merchant. In most of the built-in templates, the Text 1 field is displayed above the products, the Text 2 field is immediately below the products but above the footer, and the Text 3 field is below the footer.
- If you are creating a template for one specific store, you may want to use one or more of the Text fields for a special purpose. For example, you might want to put a graphic or some links in the Text 3 field and run it vertically down the right or left side of the page. All three fields can contain large amounts of text and HTML; you do not have to use them in order.
Text 1, 2, 3 Example Page Template Resulting Page
Because this simple page template does not put any HTML tags around the Text fields, it does not use IF tags to test whether the fields have any content. All three Text fields in the sample store contain text and HTML tags.
